Waking from the Coma

i turned my back just once
for once i didn’t care
my heart was never there till the knife cut through
and now i lie so still
no one detects a sound
but screams within my head are louder now it’s true
the blood is on my hands
but i can’t understand
why the color seems to fade
i sought forgiveness once
discressions in my youth
led to apologies of love abused
and now i’m back again
like countless times before
torn apart i pray my life can still be used
the devil twists my arm to stab my own back
