Have a coffee, maybe a beer
When you are tired and need a cheer
Just a little more, to pass the blues
Anything at all, to find the new
Where it is, the most unlikely of places
When you’re lost, find a sleeve of aces
Just the way it goes, nothing for certain
Only the end, pulling the curtain
What do you see, who’s holding the strings
Lighting the stage, cueing the scene
Your part to play, leaving the stage
No more illusions, alive for the day
Or the night, do you really care
Probably not, unless there’s a fare
Starting from scratch, can’t go back
Once you’re born, the future track
Where it leads, so hard to see
Try to settle down, with a beer or three
Figure it out, when in doubt
Open your mind, follow your heart
