Feel a Dream

When you’re out on the road, where nobody ever goes
Been out so long, with a crowd you’re all alone
The only thing you’re looking for, is standing on your own
Tried this and that, without a safety net
Fell so many times, nobody will place a bet
No matter how fast you’re bailing, you always end up wet
How much more, do I need to go
To find a core, or a stream
Watch it grow, see it flow
Hear a crow, feel a dream
Like a fool on the stage, that nobody wants to see
A cat in a cage, letting birds go free
A ship gone astray, lost again at sea
Returning to a place, you knew once before
So much has changed, things you can’t ignore
Or maybe it’s you, walking through the door
How much more, do I need to go
To find a core, or a stream
Watch it grow, see it flow
Hear a crow, feel a dream
Going back again, into the great unknown
Try to find some kind of fruit, a planting that has grown
A desert is all you see, dried up to the bone
Looking at the horizon, the sun setting trend
Gazing at the sky, could the stars be called a friend
Always so alone, on the road until the end
