At the Summit

Life is a struggle and then you die
So some say without having tried
You might start laughing, when you cry
The clown has full buckets
Work so hard, build a tunnel
Before you know it, your own kennel
Atta boy, a golden shovel
Digging holes of nothing
Flying through space and time
On the Earth, with some wine
You can swim, when you’re blind
Laughing at the summit
See the vultures start to circle
When you’re stuck, in the middle
Play a flute, or a fiddle
Drums without the trumpets
All will run, from the sound
Chaos flees, order found
Ask the trees, in the ground
It’s just another tremor
Flying through space and time
On the Earth, with some wine

Laughing at the summit
Start to run, finally free
Speeding past the centuries
Seek to find, a purpose to be
Travel past the circus
So you think until you’re there
Feeling lucky, to compare
Until you sit on too many chairs
A modern day Atlantis
