Dragons

With so many dragons, everywhere I go
Flying in the sky, or deep down below
A light in the night, will draw you in quick
So full of lies, knowing every single trick
It shows no mercy, once you’re in its grasp
A slippery slope, will draw you in fast
With a fire to breathe, a tail that will snap
It’s you that it wants, setting every single trap
From before you were born, until after your last breath
So full of scorn, taking everything you’re worth
A master of disguise, it knows where you hide
The only safe refuge, is what’s inside
The outer darkness it claims, with all of its rules
With guilt and shame, it projects all is doom
A thousand choices, it’ll lay at your feet
Only one will save you, free will do you meet
No worries says I, with laughter and a joke
I’ll have another drink, throw off the yoke
Drawing back my arrow, I’ll never miss my aim
It’s my life to live, the dragon in flames
