Little Sounds of Pain

There’s a song inside of me,
And it murmers restlessly,
Beneath the sounds of the world around me.
Always present in my mind,
It sings to me all the time,
A mournful song with no melody.
Should I sing it out?

This song is hard to understand,
It can be loud as a brass band,
Or quiet as one grain of sand.
It gets jealous when I hear,
