Charred Remains

My cage opens up to a
world full of ashes
My captors far from sight,
but the portal’s left behind.
My legs burn as I,
Crawl through the rubble,
The scorched remains of,
The many, mirrored lives
My freedom calls from
far in the distance,
The portal beckons, With its
melodic whine
The wind is drawn from me,
As I sprint for home,
But creeping after me,
The wicked enemy
(The murderous crew chases after her as she sprints for the portal,
and a most chaotic madness ensues. A barrage of shots explode around her,
and in her traumatized mind it’s all the worse. Her mind and body torture her
as she run, and soon she begins to forget why she’s even bothering,
yet just as she reaches the brink of giving up, Char remembers the last words
she spoke to her lover:
«I always know my way home».
She continues for the portal, and manages to jump through.
After going through the disorientation that any jump would give her,
Char awakens in a very, very familiar place.)
The door opens,
To a place so familiar,
Am I home?
