My Last Dance

I don’t know if I can face it this time
Will I make it cause
The countdown has begun
Six letters not auguring well
A memorandum straight from hell
Like a vow of silence, my testimony can’t be heard
No one can lead them to accept this tragedy
I may be proud but I cannot hold my tears
They’re dancing in my eyes
It’s too late to heal and also way too soon to leave
I’m affraid and paralyzed by their gaze
My life is slowly vanishing like a whisper in the wind
I’m overrun by a conscienceless enemy
So now I know, I just can’t win
Still strong enough to grin
I’m surrounded by all my friends and family
The curtain slowly falls right after my last dance
I know I’m fading out
It’s hard to find the appropriate words to describe my deliverance
Pain’s gone after all
She’s done, I’m peaceful now
I look around then smile at my son
One last time while the light drifts away from my eyes
