I used to wear chequered flared trousers
And shoes held in place by «lackey» bands
My mum cut my hair very badly
Fingernails bitten down my hands
I gave away all my pocket money
To stop my sister from crying all day
My proudest moment was getting a «Chopper» bike

Where cats and rats used to pass by and stare
Saucepans were boiling on the gas stove
To fill a tin bath we all used to share
My Dad had the chair in the parlour
