Giants/Lovers

i started to wonder
if there was anyone who’d slow me down
with lightning and thunder
i crashed through; all the trees lay on the ground
with a swift swinging blow
of my sword of raging fire from below
i toppled all the bricks and mortar
that the townspeople had worked so hard to put together again
if i am a giant in real life will i be a giant when i’m dead?
i wrote you a poem
containing all the similes that i could write
soft as a feather, i spoke them to your ear throughout the night
and for all my pining ramblings i managed to say some things you sort of liked
and i’m not one for taking chances but i figured that sometimes the chance will
never come again
if i am a lover in real life will i be a lover when i’m dead?
