And I don’t know why
It’s a war of attrition and
I’m losing to both of the sides
I prayed to a God when I knew
That I had no right
I denounced my faith
As a child of science and sacrifice
I have not heard my voice
In such a long time
It’s a sound I do not know
The tone unrecognised
I’ll push out every word
And hope it feels right
