I’ve seen troulbe, I’ve seen pain
Got beat by the sun, I’ve drowned in a rain
Found it hard to look straight ahead
All I’ve wanted lies on this riverbed
But it’s the gospel, I heard a man say
You can’t get back what you don’t give away
For every seed I’ve sown and love I’ve made stay
Lord knows I’m ready for the levee to give way
