he got a girl and she got a kite
and they got the big fat world lying right outside their own backyard
instead they watch it on television
they talk about it then decide that they hate pigeons
from their own fat couch

i read about them in a magazine
when i was a little pig-tailed girl running around our own backyard
dreaming about the day
that i would meet my man
and we would ride away beyond those gates
