I was preachin' to the choir in a truck stop bathroom stall
Wadn’t looking for a good time, so I didn’t know who to call

I was piling on my re-quests on the wings of a bird
When a cat came out of nowhere and cut that blue jay’s throat
My prayers rolled off like rain drops, and that was all she wrote
