Steady on the grind
Guess it doesn’t stop after all
Wear a man down in a thousand different ways
So it goes until the end of days
When the whistle blows
And the workers head home
There’s one who will keep going
Got a never-ending trail ahead
None offer a ride
Puts his head down and moves on
A journey for all time
Some see him as a ghostly figured bound in chains
Make no mistake in this dimension he remains
Yeah he used to drink in times of celebration
It’s now the medicine with which he treats his desperation
At least we’ve got someone out there
Who knows the weight, the burden
At the bottom of an all-time low
