Taking Shape

summer’s here
the sky is red
they’re hanging flowers on the deck
and i feel lighter
winter’s skin shed
we’re walking hand in hand
and i want to take him to the riverbed
to watch the clouds make shapes
and i will secretly celebrate
the grass grew back again

life’s like riding a bike
to keep your balance
you must keep moving
so i kept pedaling away
