I been living in the lab for the last year and a half
Just putting blood sweat and tears in these tracks
Hoping I don’t disappear in a flash
Nah I’m in it for the long haul
The world throwing obstacles at me I’m playing dodgeball
And i feel like its a challenge living
With all this weight up on my shoulders still I’m balancing it
Spending all my time trying to get this album finished
A starving artist, hungry as a kid with malnutrition
And I do this for myself, my fam and all of my viewers
Taking aim tryna pop off like a nine ruger
My times coming I just need it to arrive sooner
I won’t let a dark past stop me from a bright future
I told a friend I’m putting all my eggs in one basket
He told me don’t count my chickens before they’re done hatching
But I have too much passion
And after all the things I’ve dealt with
I look in the mirror and tell myself this
I will believe
I will be live
I will succeed

They say the greatest pleasure is always next to the pain
Like when the sun shines it eventually rains
I’ve seen people I use to know now homeless out
Begging for change and I just hope I never end up the same
I bow my head and I pray to whatever god’s listening
I’m just tryna play my part without the auditioning
But I’m not acting I was casted in this role of life
And I was told I had to gamble with it so let’s roll the dice
I ain’t got no time to spare I’m tryna bowl a strike
Before Ebola strikes
And kills us all
No really who are we kidding y’all
We only talk about the latest hype to try and feel involved
I don’t believe what they sell
I just believe in myself
I will exceed and excel
It seems nobody’s eager to help
So anytime I’m feeling helpless
I look in the mirror and tell myself this

I’ve been grinding for so long
Barely getting recognition for it
I’m steady chasing a dream
I will never quit or forfeit
And It’s no wonder they hating on me
'cause I play to the beat of my own drummer
And sing to a different chorus
I’m like no other
I am only me
And I write my history while I write this poetry
I have grown to see that this game is like survival of the fittest
No reclining for the wicked
So I’m grinding till i get it
This is the come up, I’m taking it all
I will take action I won’t sit and wait for the call
Been out for fame since I used to tag my name on the wall
Now I want my name on a plaque that I can hang on the wall
Go head let these haters throw a grain of some salt
They see me shooting for the sky so they pray that i fall
But when it all fades away and on the day it dissolves
I know I will remain to stand tall
