My New Friend

You pass me by and I wonder why
you keep to yourself
but I just can’t help
wonder who you are
are you a shooting star
who’s just wandered aimlessly
over the moon right into me We say hello
and thats as far as it goes
because ive never seen her face
besides the pictures on her myspace webpage
We joke in text
often a misconception
And she wonders what is true

I’ve been running out of money
But keep a wallet to pretend
I’ve been staying up past midnight
Just to talk to my new friend.
She talks to me how she likes photography
Shes been capturing the earth
From the sky down to the dirt
And its wonderful
how I could meet such a girl
She has me thinking about God
and not the things I shouldn’t want
