this warm bed

And walk next to you, trying to make sense of the elusive melodies in my brain
I wake up
I look through the covers
And take the best ones from their sleeve
The sun on the window means that it’s morning and right before you leave
My fingers trace your back like a needle in a groove of a record that’s cranked
up and playing my favourite tunes
And in the evening I
Won’t rest with the dusk

want to read the liner notes, so I can sing along to all those words he wrote
And in the nighttime I
Won’t lay my head to rest
Cause in the night time I
I’ve had too to think and my thoughts overpopulate my head but I’m content
I wake up
