reach in my backback for a light
somebody teach me how to drive
i’m spinning left
i’ve lost my right
i’ve lost my right of way
somewhere in back of me down the interstate
with what should be my fate
if there’s such a thing
i’ve learned my lesson too well
now i know that life can
bring a man to lose himself
with both eyes closed
driving way too fast
because i know this road
like the back of my hand
what a perfect way to die
what a stupid way to drive

but now both hands are free
and i’m trusting my instincts
to get me home safe before i end up face to face
with what should be my fate
thought i’d never see another sunrise

ain’t it funny how you have to die
