The Tower

I find myself in darkness and the smell
Of rocks too old for anyone to tell
Who has placed them here
And what this structure is
And I walk…
The stairs spiral downwards
And I must descent
I follow for hours and days
There is no end
Gravity beckons
And I need it’s call
The tower
The stairs carve a spiral into my soul
Cut the deck and I will tell
