the 5 freeway’s empty tonight
wish you were here driving through
with so much to look forward to like four days ago on this road
I’ve got a lot of time, a whole lot of road
hope you didn’t mind, when I lost control
and as the thunder grows, my eyes break away
drifting from the road, wandering through the sky
the same sky above you tonight
I welcome the clouds with a smile
knowing they’ll be here for miles
and you’ll just get farther away
