Cold, cold are these hands
From reaching persistently into what I can’t see
Red, red are these eyes
From staring so deeply into what I thought I
could be
Lost, and gone are the signs
That carried me this far out of the hole I’ve dug
so deep
Now, I’m out of the pan and into the fire
burning without a savior
Sometimes I dance over the lines with those
words of mine
They flow like water all the time
But they can’t keep me afloat
All the words on the mirrors
I spell them out to make them clearer
I can’t hold my head above water any longer
Dams, all built like walls
The weight of the water pushes and crumbles
all that stands
Come, and follow me now
Batten down the hatches; I’m your captain
