Many a man has sought to be God
Destroying the world on his way
But only one God ever thought to be man
And he was born on Christmas day
Many a pauper has reached for the stars
Dreaming of wealth he would own
But the richest of all gave everything up
As a star led the way to His home
The world unaware that the baby was born
None seemed to care on that first Christmas morn
Only shepherds came running from hills far away
To see the king of all kings
To bow and obey
The baby asleep in the hay
The magi wore crowns as they carried their gifts
To the foot of an old manger bed
That cradled the king who would rule the whole world
With a crown of thorns on his head
The world unaware that the baby was born

To bow and obey

Majesty, sovereignty, power and might
In the skin of a baby that first Christmas night
No triumphal entry as He came to this world
Just born of a scared little girl
