The darkest eyes in the room
Are staring at the door
A grim ghost of the past
Has come (back) for some more
White clouds in the night
Are quietly drifting by
The shadows slip inside
And turn down the lights
A life in the air on a whirl
It’s the sorrow of the world
That no one seems to care
Care for everyone everywhere
A dry voice on the air
Lets the empty words spread
But a plain truth stares
From the notebook by the bed
A black mountain grows
Right before one’s eyes
Night can’t hide the day
Much longer so it shows
The life we know is gone
Like snow under the sun
Hitching a ride on a country road
The blue sky feels so cold
Life in the air on a whirl
