It was a cold gray morning
When he walked out the door

She listens to the rain
It takes her back to a place and a time
But she don’t live there

Break in waves of shimmering light
She’s got a heart shaped box
Where she keeps all her dreams
She hides it in a drawer
Next to her favorite blue jeans
But they don’t fit like they used to
So she don’t wear them
