Letters to Elizabeth

There’s things I don’t wanna forget,
I sent them off in a letter to Elizabeth.
Did the courier carry it yet?
It’s been days and I have not slept.
And I need another cigarette
Before I go to bed.
If then, if only then
I could rest my head again.
And there’s nights I think I’ll be alright.
So I stay up as the clock unwinds.
I’ve tried but I can not stay,
Oh and it gets harder everyday.
I see them shuffle the floors I pace,
Growing cold the longer I wait.
And I need to be blind in the passenger seat.
And I only sing 'cause my eyes can’t shake the things I’ve seen.
Uh oh, oh no, I don’t want to see them anymore.
