Falter

I take a look around myself not quite understanding of what I see.
Sheltered within cynicism, indifferent to this world’s reality.
In order to break free of the daily grind,
impassioned I dare to speak out.
But I can’t release my psyche from the confines of self doubt.
Remind us////
That bind us///

I falter in pursuit of freedom and reason.
Moments in time ever improvising ways to survive.
Difficult to predict paths we will find.
Abdicating our force fed alibis.
Knowing this is where our salvation lies.
I open my eyes but the light is too bright.
Cover my ears but the sounds are to shrill.
To render effective my peace or my fight I
must nurture my spirit and strengthen my will.
