When the thunder claps like a shotgun blast
And the lightning strikes make the hound dog gasp
When the wind is strong enough
to bring a grown man to his knees
There’s no denying, a storm is on the way
When the mid-day sky is colored black and gray
And my aching bones are praying for a dry day
When the smell of the downpour is in the air
