The Right Place

I was breathing the air that you had left me
Making feeble attempts to take my helmet off
Though severely impaired I was rude and carefree
Wishing only to save my failed, cemented love
So I wilfully stepped into a minefield
And my fingers tried to swipe the pain away
Till my hands were aching from tendinitis
And my heart and my head had long since gone astray
Although it seems all that I wanted
Was to hear somebody say
I was looking for love in the right place all along
Looking for lov in the right ways all along
In a final attempt to land on water
W were headed towards an archipelago
You kept telling me that I shouldn’t bother
And just embrace the thought of what awaits below
So I waited for you to say the right thing
Making feeble attempts to shake my habit off
I was scared and blue and realizing
That our landing would be anything but soft
But in the end all that I wanted
Was to hear somebody say
I was looking for love in the right place all along
