When I look at the coloured lights
In the postcards of city sights
My eyes are dim under blurry skies
The ground beneath me won’t hold tight

But the rhythm of the seasons
On the cyclic sturdy beat
Reminds me that the fall is all mine
Because there’s no burning buildings

And all these beasts of burden
were sand shorn

In elementary particle physics
