There’s an invasion spreading slowly
Through the inches of my body
To hold this disturbing secret
Too painful for eyes to see
Any echoes from this illness
Create pain in many places
Strike fear in familiar hearts
That await to be freed
And I feel it live inside me
And I feel it breathe the air I breathe
And I feel it feed upon me
And I feel it and take me right to the grave
This invasion slowly cripples me
Paralyze my mind and body
Leaves me happy breathing
In a place I cannot see
This agent driven faster
Through the temple by my motor
How can we catch a cancer
That runs on our own steam?
