I survived '65
But I must’ve been the luckiest man alive
Sixteen years old and raising hell
I got some tales too tall to tell
Hangin' at the gas station, me and the gang
I guess you could say it was a hillbilly thing
Well it was '69 next thing I know
The neighbor girl come down the road
I had the hillbilly boys all standin' in line
She’d so plumb divine
I used up my savings and I bought her a ring
And now I happily-ever-after with my hillbilly thing
