when the half-light fades
and you’re not bothered
to strike another match
like counterforce this thing
this phenomenon
a moment’s falling or rise
impossible to know
'tween sleep and drifting
It holds you falling
a dancer with lilies
a bird accepting its fate
how poised she looks
while cradling his head
