Booger Country Blues

Fog on the mountains, dog on the couch
Train on the river and the words in my mouth
Sleep’s so lovely, sleep while you can
Every day is an early one for a worried man
Fog on the ridgeline where the trees turn red
Watch it tumble down the holler to the fog in my head
Is it fog on the sun that makes the light so thin?
Or is it fires in the west while we burn within?
And if I live to see the world grow dim
