Now as One

And so I glanced upon, sacred books of old
And the story it laid there before me
Began in rapture, on worlds unknown
Beneath sunlight, so bright and majestic
Awaits, the gathering storm
Unaware of the doom that proceeds them
Society looks on toward their downfall
With warm embrace they walk the path to extinction
Noble lives, encased in walls of stone!
Now as one, great pillars rise
In homage, to those once known
I look further now
Page after page
A once perfect beginning
Led to untimely decay
Corrupt moral devastation
Turning, blind eyes to the truth
I hear their faint whispers calling out
«Heed our words or next will be you!»
A chill lurches up my spine
And erases, my visions of grandeur
I ask them, «What now can I do?!»
They reply, «The choice is left up to you!»

Can’t find my way back, home
I’ve traveled
Through space and time, gaining knowledge from those unknown
But I’ve learned
With time comes dust, immortality must be earned
It must be earned!
