I try to remember when

Obliged to behave cause you needed me
The sheer horror of an oversized mate
Forgot the questions I dared to ask
It did distance us for the rest of our lives
Falling prey to illogical hopes
Happiness seems besmirched by lies
And though ideas turn out to be dangerous
