Turn back time

As I touch the rose
All the petals fell off
And the stamps took their naked
Quizzingly exposed
The perfect conversation
Wasn’t there anymore
The sublime masterpiece
Scattered out on the floor
The pitiable sight
Of the fragmented bloom
As the smell of decay
Suddenly filled the room
Irreversible and oh
So irremediable deed
Despite self reproach
I’m a broken reed
Why couldn’t I have just enjoyed the beauty
Why couldn’t I have just left it alone
How could I destroy something so wonderfully made
Now the season of blossom is gone
How I wish I could turn back time
How I wish you’d still be mine
However I trump
The blame that I take
The sorry word doesn’t work
On this mistake
So I’ll sweep up all the petals
Lying on the floor
And I’ll empty the dustpan
As I lock the door
