Scotland Is A Land

Scotland is a land
That ever nourished me
Long before I reached that shore
Robert Burns spoke to me
In song and poetry
And Scotland is a land
Where I might love again
For surely there
A lass and a lad
Could walk this earth
And honor an honest hearth

And aye the mists
The brow of Nevis they kiss
And in dreams I hear the pipers play
A song of ancient days …
And Scotland is a land
Where I might go to die
But only when
I¹ve done my best
Maybe then
In that bosom I could rest
