Old Age

I tried to convince myself this is old age
Barely able to fit into the clothes that I laid
And its true, I’ve been bruised along the way
Lost some and it was more than just shedding weight
For a second in tune with everyone around you
Blissfully unaware, okay with the day by day of what happens to individuals,
well what happens?
Painstakingly unfair, don’t have to know the day by day of what happens to

News hit me like a sucker punch to the face
Distance served no better on a silver plate
And the spoon is rusted in a funny way
No use for it now, just might as well throw it away
Tried to remember a few nice little things about you
One day maybe soon I’ll be passing through
