Truth of Today

So now you think you’ve seen the light
You think you’ve got the vision
I’m sorry I don’t pray that way
I call it superstition
What gives you all the certainty
That this is your saviour
Where once there was an attitude
There’s only strange behaviour
I want to know
Now tell me
I thought the idea was also one
Of self determination
I call it thinking for yourself
You call it deviation
Now if there really was no god
Why should you feel alone
When we can do it together
Do it on our own
I can’t stand your attitude
Your believing lies
Whatever happened to self reliance
Whatever happened to open eyes
You think because you’re on your knees
Your problems all go away
I’d rather have control of my life
And truth of today
So now you think you’ve seen the light
And you preach self control
But when someone preaches lies to you
You do what you’re told
Look did you ever stop to think
It’s just one more set of rules
