Happier Now

When the scenery remains
Of what was left in flames
No remnants of the past
All that’s left is ash
It will only rise again
With nothing left to prove
It’s more of the same

Though the damage you’ve done
Outshines the good that’s come
Things are looking up
It took long enough
Like a diamond in the rough
In a state of disarray
Now that’s changed
I’m happier now
