Rattle The Chain

Humid bamboo frames
The stench of dried up sugar canes
Oh yells from the fields as they rattle the chain made from wood and steel
Night and day the wind starts to change
Leaking with ink scatters the page
The name I’ve gained questions whether I’m normal or strange
Shotguns raised towards my window seal
I’ve been told they shoot to- kill
So duck for cover
Stay stiff and still
Yeah you bargain with guilt
Turning your head to ignore the begs
Instead you give in to the suffering grin
As they bring back incense and offerings
Keeping them safe at guard
By your doorstep til the morning comes
Why are the cats praised for fur and grace
When the dogs are caged and neglected like filth
