Butterfly

A butterfly landed on my lap
And whispered little secrets
It told me flying was fun
And it’s favourite drink was tulips
Then it took off and flew away
To glide off into the distance
Oh how I wish I could’ve gone with
To be a butterfly for a day
I would go up and down, over around the valleys and trees
I would spread my multicoloured coat, show off to the bees
Then I’d drink the juice and nectar of flowers I see
Then I’d find my man, land on his lips and let him taste me If I was a butterfly for a day

The butterfly came to see me twice
In a manner too surreal
It said the flowers on my dress looked nice
And for a minute it thought they were real
We hung out for the rest of the day
And we talked about our past lives
We were so different in many a way
But I’d give up my life for just one day if I could go Up and down over around the valleys and trees
