Let me start off by saying I started out praying to a god
Who made no sense to me
I was supposed to be touched that he loved me so much
That he let his son get nailed into a tree
I guess that’s when I learned loved hurts
Whether long term or just in little spurts
And if that’s how the Lord treats his kin we’re all doomed my friend

Around the age of five there was a giant buzzing hive
And beyond, a girl, cute but mean as sin
And on a dare as it were I ran straight to her
And a bee buried his butt right into my shin
I guess that’s where I felt love’s sting
Whether you’re a prince, pauper, jester, or king
Now her honey may seem sweet but she’ll knock you off your feet
That’s where I felt love’s sting
Now I’m old and I’m jaded. My youth and jeans have faded
And I haven’t left my house in quite some time
But a girl on-line implored so I jumped into my Ford
And a tornado pulled me right up in the sky
That’s how I know love sucks
You can’t outrun it in any pickup truck
No matter what their profile says it just ain’t worth the risk
