He sat upright and proud
He said time won’t get me down all of hot summer nights I would listen.
As his life would unfold all of glory days of old, as a daring young man I
could see him.
With a wink of his eye all the pretty girl would sigh, oh I wish I could grow
up to be him

Hero man from town to town he said I would never settle down until he saw in
her eyes what he needed.
So he made her his wife and for the first time in his life he had someone and a
dream to believe in.
And the last thing he would say tomorrow’s another day you best get on home to
