Oh! I read a review in a magazine
must have been the other day
the writer wrote about a folk sound band
and the songs he heard them play
it’s alright, if you like their music
they don’t get you up any higher
oh! the words are nice and the harmonies
but it won’t set the world on fire
so I tuned in the sounds on the radio
and tried to get abreast of the scene
the DJ’s mouth, it never seemed to close
and the records fell in-between
spaced out, right on,

strung up, high as a wire

so I went up town to hear a hard rock band
and get it right in my soul
the singer looked cute in a see-through suit
while the drummer laid a jelly roll
