Somehow the clock kept ticking
The earth kept turning fine
How could it happen? Everything changed that day
Thunder and lightning crashing down like waves
Couldn’t undo it, or make it all go away
Shadows rearranging
As the guard was changing
In the strange cruel world we found
A life upside down
