I lied to mother, protecting him though
He stuck my foot in a fishing hole
Snow mounted up to the kitchen window
I never told
No footprints to follow to grandmother’s stone
And it’s all covered in the snow
Our bodies made angels
They lay in this grove with halos
I’ve walked in the cold
But winter gets older
Though in spring I was crying within
Sticking up for my brother
He was older but he’s gone now
