Tears & Smiles

I havent lived nearly half of my life
Like most other adults that I know
But I still have plenty memories
Right here in my own backpack
From my favorite baseball cap
And to my shoes with their worn out heels
To deep within my pocket my very worn
Guitar pick
And there were times I cried outloud
You were always there by my side
You always thought of us as just friends
But I may have loved you the whole time
We walked laughed played and falled down
And lost our way going around in circles
And through shortcuts along the way
I found one thing to be true
You cant believe in everyone
But you cant lose sight in those you love
You made me strong just being yourself
You always walked with a smile
Like a gentle wind
Blowing through the grass
Together we shared smiles
Smiles and Tears

Are now far
Apart
